Relief Society Birthdays

This year for the birthdays of the sisters in our ward we are making these aprons.  We found the aprons on ebay, we bought them in bulk and they were very inexpensive but they are really high quality.  I also happen to have an embroidery machine and I found this really cute "SISTERS" embroidery pattern on etsy.  We will be  making about 175 aprons throughout the year and we have been able to make them for about $4 a piece.  Very cool!

Relief Society Lunch Bunch

I am the second counselor in the Relief Society in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and we have been having lunch once a month for the sisters in our ward and it has been so much fun!  Every month we have a different theme.  This month was Italian food and Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day!

Jessica and I love getting together about I've a week to make something.  We call it our "Craft Day"!  We love doing this, we do anything from crocheting, making something for a holiday, sewing, painting, cooking, and the list is endless!  Today you are seeing the product of our last two craft days.  Last Saturday my other daughter Emery who lives in Mesa came down and wanted to do a craft day with us.  We ended up making blogs.  I had already had a couple that I have had for quite sometime but just hadn't done anything with for a long time.  This one originally was one I started when I thought I wanted to become a photographer.  After a short time I realized I enjoyed doing it, but only for me and my family.  So I started posting a few pictures I had done...just for me.  Then when the girls were here I thought it would be fun to post the things we make and do for our craft days.  So here is my start.
This was just a simple board painted black, vinyl cut with my silhouette, and graphics i got from the silhouette website.  Yes I have a silhouette and I love it!  I love everything it can do!  I used to have a Cricut Imagine, which I never got to work the way I wanted it to and really, it is so expensive to make things.  Having to pay for every little font or picture gets really expensive! It was just crazy!  Then I found my silhouette and I an hooked!  I can use any font on my computer and you can actually, with a little adjustment, take almost any graphic and cut it out.  The silhouette, along with your printer, make a great combination!  Also the Silhouette website has a subscription that you can subscribe to.  I found that they have a fun and extensive library of graphics of all kinds on their website.  So for basically $10 a month I get $25 with of graphics!  There are bigger subscriptions but this one works me just fine!
